Method 1: Via Mobile

Here’s how you can make changes from your smartphone.

Option 1: Using Translate Option

1. Open YouTube and select the video of your choice.
2. Tap on Comments below the video.
3. Now, tap on Translate to (your preferred language) below a comment.

Option 2: Using YouTube settings

If you want to permanently change the default translation language on YouTube, then follow the steps given below.

1. Open YouTube and tap on your profile icon from the bottom right corner.
2. Tap on the Gear icon.
3. Next, select General .
4. Tap on App language .
5. Now, select your preferred language .

Method 2: Via Desktop

Users can also do the same from their PCs.

Option 1: Using Translate Option

1. Log in to YouTube and select the video of your choice.
2. Scroll down to the Comments section below the video.
3. Now, click on Translate to (your preferred language) below a comment.

You will be able to successfully view the comment in your language.

Option 2: Using Google Settings

1. Open your desktop browser and visit YouTube.
2. Click on your profile icon from the top right corner.
3. Select Google Account .
4. Click on Personal info from the left menu.
5. Scroll down and click on Language under General preferences for the web .
6. Under the Preferred Language section, click on the edit icon .
7. Select your desired language .

Option 2: Using the Extension

You can change YouTube comment language by using a third-party YouTube Comment Translate extension. Here’s how you can do it:

1. On your desktop browser visit the YouTube Comment Translate website.
2. Click on Add to Chrome then click on Add extension .
3. Log in to YouTube and select the video of your choice.
4. Select the comment you want to translate.
5. Right-click on the selected comment and select Translate to English .
6. Now, to choose your desired language click on the three-dot icon given next to Detected Language option.
7. Select Choose another language .
8. Click on the down arrow given next to the current language.
9. Select your desired language .
10. Click on Translate .

Now, you are done!
