While there’s no official explanation for this, it is likely due to the sheer number of views that Reels can receive. Just imagine the potential technical difficulties that could occur if the platform displayed every profile on the viewers list for videos with thousands or even millions of views.
However, there is a workaround that might give you a basic idea, although it may not be entirely helpful. You can try looking at the Likes on your Reels from where you’ll get an idea of who viewed it. It’s obvious if someone has liked the post, they have watched it.
Open Instagram and navigate to your profile page.
Move to the Reels section and play the video on which you want to see the viewers.
Tap on the heart (Likes) icon on the left.
Under LIKED BY , you’ll see all the profiles that have liked that Reels video, which means have viewed it as well.
How to See Stats of Your Instagram Reels
Open Instagram and tap on your Profile icon at the bottom right corner.
Tap on the three lines icon at the top right corner and select Insights from the menu.
Here you’ll see an overview of the reach of all your Reels. You can even switch between duration, i.e., 7, 14, 30, and 90 days, along with insights from previous months.

On Instagram , move to your profile page, and navigate to the Reels section.
Select a Reel for which you want to view insights and tap on the three-dots icon on the bottom right corner.

The visibility of your reels on Instagram depends on the type of account you have.
- If you have a public account, anyone who uses Instagram can view your Reels from various places of the app including the feed, Reels page, explore page, audio, viewers, and also by searching via multiple hashtags . Additionally, if you use your original audio for your reels, anyone can create a reel using your original audio.
- If you have switched to a private account, only your followers will be able to see the Reels you post.
